Belief:

The word "belief" is derived from the Old English word "geleafan," which emanated from a Proto-Indo-European root that means "to hold dear" or "to love."
This etymology suggests belief is originally a feeling or emotion rather than a cognitive state. It is something that we hold close to our hearts, something that we love and cherish.
Over time, "belief" has evolved to encompass accepting something as "Truth", often without concrete proof. For instance, in the Middle Ages, the sun's rotation around the earth was a "belief" that today we know it was a false and unscientific belief.

Exerting the right to belief can lead to "freedom of belief" until it does not infringe on the rights of others, but as soon as it violates the rights of others, it is no longer allowed to exercise it.
Imagine that some people think that eating some foods like bat soup will strengthen their sexual power. Based on this unscientific belief, they consider it their right to eat bats based on having the "right to food", and by eating bats, they infect themselves with the coronavirus, contaminate others and cause the death of millions of people like Kovid-19.
In such circumstances, "freedom of belief" turns to "anti-freedom of belief", which is lethal.
It is the same as believing in inequality between humans according to their race or gender or other differences.

Whereas "freedom of belief" is closely related to religion, we will pay more attention to it when we study Article 18, where the UDHR considers the right of freedom, thought, conscience, and religion.
